Drawing notes

Use the reference sheet for Nero’s proportions, markings, and asymmetry.

Start with the reference sheets

Use the creator-supplied sheets for Nero’s anatomy, markings, and colors. The gallery’s AI-generated scenes are labeled as interpretations.

Face & eyes

Nero has three eyes. In the upright front view, the amber eye is on the viewer’s left and the cyan eye is on the viewer’s right. The smaller green eye sits on his forehead. Keep his muzzle distinct and expressive.

Mane, ears & horns

Follow the swept russet mane down the back of the head and neck. Keep the tall, pale ears with pink interiors and the short, pink-tipped horns. Use the sheet for the ear jewelry and laurel placement.

Forelimb asymmetry

In the upright front view, the hand on the viewer’s right is bright pink, while the opposite hand is pale. Keep the sides consistent as you turn the character, using the front and side views together.

Markings & fur

Follow the irregular pink pattern along the neck and chest, the pale muzzle and belly, and the dark hindquarters. Keep the cheek spots, dark body markings, and fur boundaries visible instead of blending them into clothing.

Wings & tail

Use the dark batlike wings and their structured membranes from the side view. Connect them clearly to his back. Follow the reference for the long dark tail and its markings, leaving room for both wings and tail in the pose.

Body & posture

The sheet shows Nero on all fours and standing upright. Use the matching view for the pose’s proportions and limb connections. When drawing him with Scraps, keep Nero visibly larger.

Jewelry & clothing

The dressed view includes a gold laurel, ear jewelry, bands, and a red gem pendant. Keep each piece separate from the fur markings. Court scenes can use royal robes; home scenes can use simple clothes with the laurel off.

Expressions & tongue

Use the expression sketches to guide the muzzle, brows, and mouth. His tongue is multicolored and several feet long. It can stay inside his mouth in relaxed or closed-mouth expressions.
